How does Clearly's 6-step filtration work?

Water passes through a 2-step 1 micron filter pad, which removes particles such as sediment, sand, rust, dirt, and other undissolved substances. Granulated activated carbon GAC reduces or effectively removes chlorine, chemicals, bad odors, and taste. KDF55/KDF85 effectively reduces PFAS, heavy metals (copper, lead, iron, aluminum), lime, mercury, nickel, chrome, cadmium, magnesium, drug residues, etc., and softens the water. Effectively removes hundreds of contaminants.

Water flows through 6 steps of filtration:

Step 1: Water flows through a one-micron filter pad that removes particles such as silt, sediment, cyst (Giardia, Cryptosporidium), sand, rust, dirt, etc., and other undissolved material.

Step 2: Water passes through granulated activated carbon with coconut shell (Arsenic-Free GAC™). GAC is widely recognized and regularly used as an effective adsorbent to remove a variety of organic pollutants, chemicals, drug residues, bad taste, and odor from drinking water. 

Step 3: Water flows through the ion exchange resin, which reduces heavy metals such as lead, copper, aluminum, and water hardness.

Step 4 & 5: Water flows through a bed of media made of a special high-purity alloy blend (Eagle Redox Alloy® 6500 and Eagle Redox Alloy® 9500.) Chlorine and chloramines are immediately and almost undetectably oxidized.

Step 6: Water flows through another micron filtration pad for further reduction of unwanted particles. The final result is a significant reduction or total elimination of a variety of contaminants.
