Water passes through 6 stages of filtration:

Step 1: Water passes through a one-micron filter pad that removes particles such as silt, sediment, cysts (Giardia, Cryptosporidium), sand, rust, dirt, and other insoluble materials.

Step 2: Water flows through granulated activated carbon with coconut shell (Arsenic-Free GAC™). GAC is widely recognized and regularly used as an effective adsorbent to remove various organic pollutants, chemicals, pharmaceutical residues, bad taste, and odor from drinking water.

Step 3: Water passes through an ion exchange resin, which reduces heavy metals such as lead, copper, aluminum, and water hardness.

Step 4 & 5: Water flows through a bed of media made of a special high-purity alloy blend (Eagle Redox Alloy® 6500 and Eagle Redox Alloy® 9500). Chlorine and chloramines are immediately and nearly completely oxidized..

Step 6: Water passes through another micron filter pad for further reduction of unwanted particles. The end result is a significant reduction or complete elimination of various contaminants.

What's KDF, REDOX och GAC?

The water passes through the filter media KDF-55D and KDF-85D. There are filters made of a special pure metal blend of copper and zinc. KDF is important for water purification using the electrochemical oxidation principle, known as REDOX, to be as effective as possible. KDF-55D and KDF-85D prevent the growth of bacteria, algae, and fungi. This is a unique feature. Clearly's water treatment products also filter and purify water through granular activated carbon, abbreviated as GAC. Clearly's GAC water filters meet ANSI 42 NSF certification requirements, and KDF filters meet ANSI 61/42 NSF certification requirements. Clearly's two-stage 1-micron water filter cartridge has an ISO 9001 approved manufacturer.
